Ukraine Responds

So today we saw Ukraine’s response to the massive aerial assault by Russia yesterday. The Russian government has claimed that Ukrainian strikes, including what they allege to be the use of cluster bombs, targeted the provincial capital of Belgorod on Saturday. According to Russia, these attacks resulted in the death of 14 people, including two children, and left 108 individuals injured. Russia has characterised the strikes as “indiscriminate” and has pledged to retaliate in response to the alleged attacks.
It seems clear that this was a knee jerk reaction as a result of the significant damage inflicted on military infrastructure yesterday, especially early warning radar installations. The Russians have said that this indiscriminate bombing will not go unpunished. As I reported and opined yesterday this is just the beginning of the end and we can expect a massive response from Russia in the coming days.
Late today Russia formally requested a meeting of the United Nations Security Council to address the deadly strike. Moscow’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, stated, “We have requested a meeting of the Security Council on Belgorod for 15:00 New York time (2000 GMT) today, 30 December.” This move indicates Russia’s desire to bring the incident to the attention of the international community through the UN Security Council and seek a forum for discussion and potential action in response to the attack. The Russians insisted on the attendance of the Czech permanent representative to elucidate his country’s provision of weapons, purportedly used in causing harm to civilians.
I would not put much hope into any type of resolution or condemnation on the part of the UNSC, but I think from an optics point of view its good that the matter is formally recorded. Keep this in mind as NATO, via Ukraine as proxy, continue to conduct terror attacks on Russian civilians. They are trying to push Putin into doing something rash, although I think he is to wily for that.
When Russia was on the doorstep of Kyiv in March of last year, they pulled back as they had a peace agreement in place. Which the Ukrainians reneged on at the request of Boris Johnson. By that time Russia had already pulled back. Putin has always maintained his position of not attacking civilians or non military infrastructure hence his withdrawal.
I believe all major military targets have been neutralised or will be over the next few days and, unless Zelensky capitulates, the only option for Russia will be the complete annihilation of all Ukraine’s front line troops, a move that Putin will try and avoid at all costs. Despite the 1.5 million Ukrainians who fled Ukraine, if this is the only way to bring Zelensky to the negotiating table, rest assured Ukraine will have lost at least a generation to this madness.
Remember that Zelensky’s masters need to continue this war to prevent Russia from exposing all the offshore Deep State assets in Ukraine and the biological malfeasance which we will discuss in another report.
The next 48 hours should determine the paths taken by both sides.
