Australian Navy Vessels Need to act ‘with Prudence’ in Waters near China, Official says 

A top Chinese official has defended the actions of a People’s Liberation Army navy warship, which confronted an Australian frigate in the East China Sea earlier this month. Speaking at a UTS event in Sydney, the head of the Chinese Communist Party’s international department, Liu Jianchao says the Chinese warship was simply monitoring the Australian frigate. Foreign affairs reporter Stephen Dziedzic tells The World despite the incident, the overall tone from the minister about Australia-China ties was positive.
