Nevertheless, success in war transcends mere territorial gains. Ukraine is grappling with a rapid depletion of vital resources, soldiers, funding, support, and morale.

Russia’s strategy appears calculated, avoiding swift advances and the associated higher casualties. Instead, they are proceeding methodically, anticipating Ukraine’s internal collapse and eventual surrender. This approach allows Russia to claim land with minimal resistance, reducing casualties among friendlies, foes, and civilians.

Compounding Ukraine’s challenges are diminishing Western funding, the onset of winter, and a dwindling array of options. The counteroffensive has yielded no tangible victories, failing to demonstrate to NATO that victory is within reach. Global interest in Ukraine has dwindled, evident in reported lack of support for President Zelensky, who is purportedly losing political ground, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Compounding his troubles protestors have been out on the streets in various cities demanding the demobilisation of the military especiallly those who have been on the front line for a long time.

The situation in Ukraine appears to be in a state of collapse.

If the current status quo persists, Ukraine is on the precipice of falling. The potential lifeline for Ukraine now hinges on direct intervention by the United States, a move that could potentially escalate into a full-scale kinetic World War 3.

Lindsey Graham, previously known for his hawkish stance, has taken a complete turnaround, now asserting himself as “America First” and emphasizing the need to secure the border.

In a notable shift, he declares, “I’m not helping Ukraine until we help ourselves first.” This stark change stands in contrast to Graham’s demeanor just six months ago in Kyiv, where he appeared eager and enthusiastic, even expressing anticipation over deceased Russians.

This transformation marks a significant departure from his previous stance, signalling a shift in priorities. The dynamics seem to have shifted dramatically.
